Hi there, I’m Elin.
A writer endlessly fascinated with the creative process.
I’ve been blogging about creativity since 2016, when I spent a year facing my creative fears. In 2020, I started coaching creatives, helping others make the projects they want to make. I was self-employed for about two years, but ultimately that lifestyle didn’t suit me. Now I’m a content writer at a brilliant young tech company called Tendium, and I pursue my own projects, like this Substack, on the side. I love it.
I live in Sweden, in a suburb to Stockholm, and love the mix of living on the edge of a forest and working in the middle of a city. My surname, Lööw, is a weird spelling on the Swedish word for leaf.
The Good Creative Life is for…
The Good Creative Life is for you who want to create, and you want to do it in a way that feels good on the inside. You probably already have ways of learning the practical skills of your chosen craft. This is not that. This is a space for understanding the creative process better. For understanding yourself as a creative better. For figuring out what a good creative life looks like, today, tomorrow, and in this forever evolving journey we’re all on. That’s what we’re doing here, together.
I don’t have all the answers. My strength is that I’ve been thinking about this for a long time, and the creatives I’ve worked with have often said that I understand the creative process on a deep level. But I’m also right there with you, in the trenches, trying to create and live and do it well. I share my creative life story as it unfolds, the challenges I face, the processes I go through, the lessons I learn. Sometimes it’s the big stuff, and sometimes it’s the small everyday moments.
I write because this is how I make sense of myself and the creative life, but also because 8 years of blogging about creativity and 3 years of coaching creatives has taught me that we’re all quite similar. We face similar challenges, and we understand ourselves in the journeys of others.
