Hello Elin! I found your site while going down a rabbit hole of slow living and creativity on Pinterest, which somehow led me here. I’m new to Substack. To me, it seems it’s similar to how blogging used to be, before we had to be obsessed with SEO and we just talked about our experiences and our day. I’m wondering why you didn’t just write these posts on your blog, since you already have a platform? Is it the subscription style setup of Substack that’s the benefit?
Hi Melissa! Glad you found me. :) The main benefits of Substack, in my eyes, is that it's much much easier to actually reach and interact with your audience than a regular blog. Even if people have read and appreciated my blog, people don't subscribe to the blog and therefore don't know when there's a new post. So I had to rely on other platforms for that.
Before, I had my blog and an email newsletter, and by moving my blog to Substack, I could combine the two. I suppose I could have set up a similar system on my blog, but it would have been much clunkier, and I would have missed out on the community aspect here on Substack. I have a podcast episode where I talk about the decision some more, if you're interested! https://www.elinloow.com/podcast/episode-24
Am so happy to see you here for all of these reasons. Emails always get lost and this is a nice collection of long form writing from folks I actually want to read. 💫
OMG! I recently found you on Pinterest and read a looootttt of your blog posts. I love your writing style. I’m so happy you are in Substack. Can’t wait to follow your creative journey.
Sooo happy to see you here!! I can just sense how excited you are through your words and I'm so looking forward to all the writings, photos and voice notes! 🙌🤗💛 Ps. just noticed that the potential title for my own Substack is to be seen, haha. It will probably change in the near future!
Yay! Can't wait to see all that you bring. And if you're inspired to share a taste of your fiction writing as well, I'm sure it will be welcomed and well recieved 😉
Thank you friend! Excited. Ooh yeah that's an idea! I always write fiction in Swedish, but maybe I can translate some at some point. I'll definitely write about writing fiction here at least haha 😉
I've always loved getting your emails, and am so thrilled you're here now too!
That makes me so happy to hear Natalie! 🤗 Super thrilled as well ✨️
